The Year that Was

The Year That Was for Rull Orchard 2023

As with all new years, ours began loaded with expectancy; the sense of the limitations and enforced isolations of the preceding years diminished, and our hopes and potential high. The winter months offer space for ruminations that allow the rested mind to ease towards the beginnings of the Spring’s new hope. Rejuvenated, and with an award to reward our efforts, we forged the path into the year ahead, planting more trees and nurturing our precious fermentations. There’s a calm that comes working alongside nature that’s echoed through the art of blending. Every blend represents to us the best that nature’s bounty has given, and this year our blends did not disappoint. This year has seen us grow in our passion for sharing our love of great craft cider, and for encouraging others to embrace biodiversity and sustainability for themselves. Seen us share our story in the hope of showing that anyone can make change happen. Now, after taming the might of a harvest born of a near-tropical summer, and riding the frenzy of fetes and fayres, we drift back towards the tranquillity of the winter orchard. Where the crunch of a hard frost underfoot, as we prune our orchard, is the only sound to disturb the contemplations of a peaceful mind. The year that was for us, is a year that has formed the bedrock for the year that will be. So the cycle of the hope that nature inspires continues!
